Nicholas will travel to Norway to make his debut with the Oslo Philharmonic at the Oslo Konserthus on 30 August. He will conduct Shostakovich Symphony No.8, a piece the composer described as a ‘poem of suffering’, written in 1943, as well as Britten’s song cycle, Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings written in the same year, with tenor Andrew Staples and Hongpark Kim on the horn. The programme opens with Liadov Le Lac enchanté.
