City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) welcome back Nicholas for two concerts this week at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. Firstly, on 3 March, Nicholas conducts a vibrant programme including Tchaikovsky’s Hamlet Overture, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite and Saint Saens’ Cello Concerto No. 1 with cellist Leonard Elschenbroich. Following this concert, on 5 March, Poulenc’s Gloria takes the Cello Concerto’s place in the programme, with the CBSO Chorus and soprano Sophie Bevan joining the line-up for this special performance. Nicholas will then return once again to the CBSO on 31 March.
