The BBC Proms return this summer with live audience, and Nicholas and the Aurora Orchestra will once again take to the stage on 11th August. This will be their 11th consecutive performance at the world’s biggest classical music festival.
The programme will be Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with Pavel Kolesnikov as soloist, and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite played from memory. Nicholas and the Aurora Orchestra’s from-memory performances have become a thrilling recent fixture of the Proms. The evening will be presented by BBC Radio 3’s Tom Service.
