Nicholas returns to the Residentie Orkest at the end of April for three evening concerts on 21, 22 and 23 April at the Zuiderstrandt Theatre, Den Haag, De Doelen, Rotterdam and Concertzaal Tilburg.
The programme for the three evening performances is Dukas The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Ravel Piano Concerto for the Left Hand with soloist Arthur Jussen and Stravinsky The Firebird.
Ravel’s Piano Concert for the Left was written for the pianist Paul Wittgenstein, who lost his right arm during the First World War, and Jussen will perform the piece with his right hand tied behind his back. During the concerts, ballets The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and The Firebird will be brought to life with original drawings from the premieres of both works.
