Orchestre National du Capitol de Toulouse welcomes Nicholas back to Halle aux Grains on 12 & 14 February to conduct a programme including Adams’ hyper melodic Violin Concerto (performed by Chad Hoopes) and Holst’s The Planets. The BBC Philharmonic will see Nicholas conduct a blazing programme at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester on 20 February, starting with Simpson’s Sparks, MacMillan’s Viola Concerto (with Lawrence Power who gave the premiere in 2014), Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue (with pianist Jonathan Scott) and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. Focusing on 20th century French composers, Les Siècles will perform works by Couperin, Ravel, Debussy’s Dances for Harp and Pierne’s Konzertstück for Harp with Xavier de Maistre. The concert will be held at Konzerthaus Berlin on 24 February.
