Nicholas conducts Mahler Symphony No.10 with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra on 10 May at the Koncerthuset in Copenhagen. Also joining him on stage will be pianist Louis Schwizgebel making his debut with the orchestra in Mozart Piano Concerto No.26. Nicholas has previously recorded Haydn and Ligeti Concertos and Capriccios with the orchestra, but this will be his debut with them on the concert platform.
On 13 May he conducts the Aurora Orchestra in the newly re-opened Queen Elizabeth Hall at London’s Southbank Centre in a special all-Ligeti programme, featuring star soloists Patricia Kopatschinskaya and Pierre-Laurent Aimard. In June the Aurora Orchestra make their Paris debut in the new Seine Musicale venue on the Ile Seguin, with a Mozart programme featuring soloist Cedric Tiberghien.
